Above, page 1 of Mary Ann's letter to friend, Sophie Minnick (Knupp), written about her's and Peter's 1866 trip by railroad and other means, from New Castle, Henry County, Indiana, to Greenville, Augusta County, Virginia. Brother, Peter (Valentine) Bushong is mentioned in the third page.

Scans of letter from UNC Southern Historical Collection, The Wilson Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Folder 3: Minnick letters: Scan 64, 65, 66 see them here. They state this letter with others was purchased from Alvin Lohr of Hagerstown, Maryland, in March, May, and September 1956. Other letters in the folder are written by Andrew H. Minnick, Sophie's brother, who was in the Civil War was in Company H (later Company C), 69th Indiana Volunteers. Their parents were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Minnick.
