Samuel Henry Bushong, 1863-1915, husband of Ibbie T. Bartley, 1874-1937

Member of the Rock Bridge Gang, in Kentucky, between ca 1888 and 1893. The core members of the gang included: Mack Amyxx, Lon Park, Sam Henry Bushong, Elzie Green Carter, James Sherman Clemons (alias Jim Darnel), Turner Clemons, (alias Turner Darnel), John Pickerel, Winfrey Thompson, Johnson Smith, Lanos Walden, and Lindsey Walden. With two members and two brothers of another of the gang identified, it is quite possibe more members, if not most of the Rock Bridge Gang. Samuel is in the back row, 6th from the left. Three others identified in the photograph are: back row second from left, James T. Pickerel, fourth James Sherman Clemons, fifth Reuben Pickerel, sixth Sam Bushong. James and Reuben Pickerel were brothers of gang member, John Pickerel. James Clemons and Sam Bushong were also members. To see photograph with full caption click here.
