John Bushong 1760-1825 Estate Papers
These are the Probate/Estate papers of John Bushong Senior, (1760-1825) who's first wife was Jenette Young Summers and second wife was the widow Elizabeth Breedlove. John Bushong, was born June 17 1760, in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware, the son of Anthony Andrew Bushong and Catherine Bushong. He died in the Franklin Township, Ross County, Ohio in 1825. This collection of documents, from his estate, range from 1822 thru 1825 and up to 1830, and are for various claims for and against the estate. The captions are to loosely identify the contents of the documents. There are numerous signatures on the documents, including several for John Sr., sons, George Bushong, James Bushong, son in-law John Mitchel (his mark), as well as Elizabeth Bushong (her mark), and several of John's stepsons, her sons from her first marriage .
In the Bushong United Family Tree, John Bushong Sr. has over 1300 descendants listed and if he's an ancestor of yours, I urge you to please make full-sized copies all of these documents, for your own (and different) archive. Here, from John Bushong's probate file, there are 44 images/files of close to 60 documents and some of their obverse sides. These were cropped and combined (where possible) from the 84 different scans/images on FamilySearch.org. Note, the file names have a rough description of the image. Here's the source for the documents John Bushong Probate Case #500 as scanned at FamilySearch.org.
